India beat South Africa in Kolkata Test by 57 Runs

Finally India has levelled the series by winning Kolkata Test by a margin of 57 runs from South Africa. India made 643/6 in the first inning and then South Africa’s score was 296/10 in first inning and 290/10 in second inning. After the first inning, India set a lead of 347 runs and finally SA team crashed on total score of 290 i.e trailing behind 57 Runs. Hashim Amla made 123* (not out) and took the score to 290. Final 30 minutes of the game was very crucial and SA team got all out in last 15 minutes of the game. Harbhajan Singh and Amit Mishra changed the shape of the game by taking 5/59 and 3/78 respectively.

Now India has reclaimed the Rank 1 position in International Test Cricket. Batting contribution from India’s side from Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, MS Dhoni was the reason behind total score of 643 in first inning. They all scored 100+ in that inning.

India and South Africa is looking forward for ODI series which is starting from 21’st Feb 2010 from Jaipur. As BCCI selection committee has announced that Zaheer Khan is not going to play the first ODI because of the injury, Indian team’s pace bowling performances will depend on the young players like Ishant and Sreeshant.
